Shanghai, Monday 12 June
The Monday session opened to a larger crowd than we had seen so far but the similarity remained – younger men and women all with knowledge and interest and knowing mostly what they wanted to taste. Very cool new hotel venue that probably helped with the crowd.
I was tied up with masterclasses all day so did not see the full extent of numbers but I reckon 50% up on any of the others. Our masterclass in the afternoon went well but again its hard to get everyone to stick to the script so that translation goes well and the audience gets the knowledge they are looking for! The masterclasses are the guts of our message and ability to tell our stories. Individually
Great party Monday night and few sore heads the next day.
David Lucas and the Wine Australia team are to be congratulated on putting together a great event and for having a fix it and do it attitude, they were a pleasure to work with at all times.
